Recipes for Natural Homemade Peels

Recipes for Natural Homemade Peels

Fruits such as pineapple and papaya work well in at-home preparations, due to their natural enzymes and high sugar content. Strawberry and lemon juices, naturally highly acidic, are favorite add-ons to at-home peels. The most important ingredient is the cane sugar. Caster sugar (finely milled sugar) will produce results closest to those at the dermatologist’s. A superfine grind, caster sugar will dissolve better than regular cane sugar, penetrating skin cells more easily.

Skin Firming Peel

• 1 packet unflavored gelatin
• Juice of 1 lemon and 1 orange
• Heat together gently to dissolve the gelatin then let cool slightly
The gelatin has a softening effect on the skin and as it dries will help firm and tone while the lemon and orange juice will exfoliate, stimulate and diminish hyper pigmentation.

Gentle Fruit Peel

• 1 cup fresh pineapple
• 1/2 cup fresh papaya
• 1 tablespoon honey
• Puree fruit together then add the honey and mix into a smooth paste
Pineapple and papaya contain natural enzymes and alpha-hydroxy acids that remove dead skin cells while the honey moisturizes the skin.

How to do it:
Mash the pineapple and papaya in a food processor and add the honey; mix it well
Spread this mix with your fingertips on you clean face and neck; keep the eye area clear
Now lie down, relax and leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes
Then wash it off with alternately cold and warm water and end with a splash of cold; pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Finally tone and apply a moisturizer, this way you "seal" your skin to keep the water inside

Anti-Wrinkle Peel

• 1/4 cucumber, peeled and seeded
• 1 egg white
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
• Puree ingredients together until mixed well
The cucumber diminishes hyper pigmentation, and reduces fine lines and wrinkles, the egg white firms and tightens, and the lemon juice exfoliates.
Leave mask on for 10-15 minutes

PH Restorative Peel

• 1 tomato, pulp only
• package unflavored gelatin
• 1 tablespoon orange juice
• Gently heat ingredients to dissolve gelatin, then puree until smooth
The tomato helps to restore the natural PH of the skin and is an excellent natural remedy for the treatment of blemishes. The gelatin helps to firm and
tone the skin while the orange juice exfoliates.
Leave mask on for 10-15 minutes

Skin Revitalizing Peel

• 1 egg yolk
• 1 tsp honey
• 1/8 cup fresh citrus (lemon, orange or lime) juice
• 1 packet plain gelatin
• Mix together thoroughly
The egg yolk moisturizes and firms, the honey moisturizes and the citrus juice exfoliates the dead skin cells away, stimulating new cell production.
Leave mask on for 10-15 minutes

Hydrating and Moisturizing Peel

• 1/4 mashed avocado
• 1 teaspoon honey
• 1 egg white- beat until stiff
• Mix into a smooth paste
The egg white firms while the avocado reduces hyper pigmentation, moisturizes, and its’ healing properties diminish scars.
Leave mask on for 10-20 minutes

Have you tried any of these yet?  Or are you like me that are trying them out soon, let me know your thoughts on this.

BH Cosmetics - Jenni Rivera - 36 Color Eyeshadow and Blush Palette

This is my 1st review ever and I just cannot wait to share this fabulous palette with you.  I bought this eyeshadow/blush palette online at BH Cosmetics a while back and hadn't tried it until this weekend.  My first impression was, ok, it's smaller than what I expected but let's see how pigmented the colors are, that's when I was totally blown away just as I was applying the eyeshadow.  You really don't need much product on your brush to get a great look.

The part which you want to hide.

As you may know there are 36 eyeshadows and 6 blushes, some are matte, glittery and shimmery. Overall, my favorite would be the shimmery eyeshadows.  My least favorite at least for my skin tone would be the matte colors, I found them a little to light to even show up and pick up with my brush.

This is the palette, see all the nice colors.

Top to Bottom:  1st row, love all the colors even though some are matte.
2nd row, the non shimmery are matte.
3rd row, awesome colors as well.
4th row are blushes, very nice too.
All of these colors are exceptional, must haves.

Non-flash. left to right.

With Flash, left to right.

Blushes - No Flash

Blushes - With Flash

Final Thoughts:  Yes, I would buy this Palette again.  You get a great range of colors, super pigmented.
Where to Buy: BH Cosmetics
$$:  $17.47 Plus Shipping
FTC: I bought this palette with my own money.
